Crack Addiction Continues To Haunt DMXRapper arrested in AZ for probation violation Posted on: Tue, Mar 9 2010
If it seems like just the other month DMX was released from an Arizona jail and he vowed to turn over a new leaf, it was. His attempts at turning his life over to God may still be intact and he may have had every intention of never returning to AZ. However, the demons of his past won't let go. X was arrested yesterday on charges of having used illegal drugs in the past nine months, a violation of his parole and according to TMZ, was taken into custody. "He's been battling addiction for some time and he's in need of treatment," says X's lawyer, Gary Jenkins. Jenkins is hopeful X will get treatment sooner than later and wondered aloud if Dr. Drew Pinsky of "Celebrity Rehab" fame could help resolve his client's issues. In all, DMX is said to have violated five counts of probation violation and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio isn't convinced the rapper should be released this time. “I think it’s about time to give him hard time," he said matter of factly. "How many chances do you give people? Just because he’s a rapper? Rappers seem to go to jail quite frequently... why is he treated different, because he’s DMX and made some movies? If he stays in the jail long enough I’ll decide whether or not to put him in the drug prevention education program.” |
